The Raspberry Pi is a low cost, credit-card sized computer that plugs into a computer monitor or TV, and uses a standard keyboard and mouse. It is a capable little device that enables people of all ages to explore computing, and to learn how to program in languages. It’s capable of doing everything you’d expect a desktop computer to do, from browsing the internet and playing high-definition video, to making spreadsheets, word-processing, and playing games.
Our company plan to use 8 Raspberry Pi computers to build mini cluster which will be capable to run data mining workflows. Actyally this cluster will act as data and computational server.
The cluster is now in test phase with two Raspberry Pi computers. On each of them is installed Ubuntu Trusty distribution of Linux without desktop environment. We install My SQL as database server application and OGSA-DAI Grid middleware for executing data intensive workflows.
